Prerana Shrestha — 2019 recipient of the Anuradha Rao Memorial Travel Award!
The Rao family is delighted to announce that Prerana Shrestha is the 2019 recipient of the Anuradha Rao Memorial Travel Award! We were impressed by her work as well as her ability to articulate complex issues to non scientists, and wish her the very best in her career as a neuroscientist. Featured on Neuron’s Home Page!
Dr. Linnaea Ostroff on eLife!
Using translating ribosome affinity purification (TRAP) with RNASeq to identify mRNAs in cortical axons regulated during associative memory, Dr. Ostroff demonstrates that translation in the adult forebrain dendrites is regulated by learning, and axons in the adult rat amygdala contain translation machinery. This opens the pathway to investigating the mechanisms by which translation is regulated in complex cells such as neurons.
Our latest publication on Nature Communications
Latest paper, co-authored by Heather Bowling and Aditi Bhattacharya, on new potential biomarkers and patient protein “fingerprinting” in Fragile X Syndrome (FXS), the leading single gene cause of Autism and ID. Presented at #INSAR2019.
Mauricio’s Paper in Science Signaling!
In February 2021. Mauricio’s paper was published in Science Signaling. He used two different AD mouse models and found that ISRIB can reverse deficits in translation, synaptic plasticity, and memory. His paper also made the cover!
